Castello di Volpaia Balifico Toscana IGT Balifico is named after for the vineyard from which the fruit is sourced. The Pian Delle Vigne estate was aquired by the Antinori family in 1995. A deep and brilliant ruby red in colour, the 2010 Pian delle Vigne is characterized by complex and intense aromas: floral notes accompanied by fragrant sensations of wild cherries, raspberries, and perceptible presence of plums, mints, and eucalyptus. Balanced and ample on the palate with full and intense flavours and texture, this Sangiovese is elegant and noble in the tactile sensations of its tannins and very mineral as well, a Brunello which promises significant expressive possibilities as it ages and develops over time.

Murrumbateman is perfect area for this variety producing wine with cherry, nutty dominated flavours with a hint of spice and juniper too. The palate is medium weight with a great acid balance and fine tannins. Have with any kind of food that resembles Italian - a great food wine.

Il Corzanello is the medieval, fortified farmhouse on the property and its namesake bottling is made from a hand harvested blend of roughly 50% younger vine Sangiovese 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot Spicy bright red fruit character cinnamon anise and alpine herbs. The palate is succulent and juicy with, sour cherry fruit cola fine soft tannins and mouth-watering acidity.

Light to medium red colour, with fresh cherry fruit flavours. Try serving chilled in warmer weather.
