Rich and flavoursome the 2018 Cutlass Single Vineyard Shiraz shows thick cuts of red berry and juicy dark plum with some whole bunch derived perfume and spice.The palate is long and persistent with complex fruit flavours overlaid with fresh toasty French Oak.

100% whole bunch pressed and wild fermented in one year old French oak for 10 months. A dark plum colour which immediately reflects the origin of cool climate Adelaide Hills. The bouquet is extremely complex with hints of spice, aniseed, wood smoke and flashes of star anise. The palate is rich and lush from start to finish and has excellent breadth and length. The mid palate explodes withluscious blood plum fruits in the mix, chalky tannins & a neat touch of fresh raspberry acidity to finish. The balance impeccable.

The trailblazers of the Adelaide Hills have created another outstanding wine. A superb expression of modern cool-climate Shiraz; Shaw & Smith is elegantly spicy and brimming with supple red-fruit flavours matched by fine tannins. An absolute ripper.

Dark red in colour, a rich and complex nose, with aromas of ripe blackberry and black pepper spice, typical of cool climate Adelaide Hills Shiraz, intermingled with a subtle sweet cedar note from maturation in French oak barrels. The palate is vibrant and silky smooth, with ripe blackberry fruit flavours and lively spice. A wine that combines richness and elegance, with subtle oak nuances and fine tannins, giving the wine a firm structure and long lasting finish.

Campbell Mattinson Meaty and spicy with black cherry and plum flavours rumbling throughout. The tannin feels dry and sturdy, the fruit brooding and dark, but the floral and sweet meat characters here lend it both a prettiness and a touch of the exotic.

If we’re honest, there’s not a single reason that we don’t love Sidewood. They’re far from being one-trick ponies (although everyone can find a favourite in their range). Whether it be sensational sparkling, succulent sauvignon blanc, perfect pinot noir, or shining chardonnay. This time, the spotlight is on the shiraz. Selected fruit, estate crafted, 100% french oak treatment through fermentation and 15 months maturation, before final barrel selection is undergone.
