St. Hugo Single Vineyard Barossa Valley Koch Shiraz

St Hugo is a story of legacy and reinvention, their team honour the traditions of winemaking legend Hugo Gramp. Grandson of pioneering vigneron Johann Gramp and founder of Gramp & Sons winery in 1847. Bringing his historical vision of not only the brand but the Barossa into the modern world. St Hugo pays tribute to its namesake Hugo, and each vintage they make is in celebration of his love of the land he grew up on, from their first vintage in 1980. The St Hugo wines showcase deep respect for the grapes grown on their sites by turning them into wines with structure, power and elegance. The wines are crafted to be part of your celebrations with loved ones all over the world – from their vineyards to your table. Sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1921 these vines are all you would expect of a vineyard approaching 100 years of age, gnarled, twisted and expressing their many years of hardship. Barossa Shiraz at its finest, showcasing the distinctive sub-regional characteristics of fruit selected from the Rowland Flat sub region of the Barossa Valley. Bright and vibrant with dark red fruits and a plush opulence this is a wine approachable in it’s youth and the depth of flavour to age.

Henschke Apple Tree Bench Shiraz Cabernet

Deep crimson in colour. Spicy aromas of Satsuma plums, blueberries, crushed mulberries, blackberries and blackcurrants are complemented beautifully by savoury notes of cardamom, bay leaf and licorice. Rich, succulent plum and blue and black berry fruits fill the palate and entwine with black pepper, bay leaf and anise, while plush layers of soft, supple tannins and a savoury line of flavour provide for a firm and well structured mid-palate, and long, fine finish.

Penfolds Barossa Valley Shiraz

Why do they make this style of thick, opulent wine in the Barossa? Because they can, and when done well, with all parts in harmony, intense engagement follows. The colour of an ominous thunder cloud, deep, rich aromas - so far, time in our cellar has seen hardly any change since release - perhaps, extra smoothness. This denotes a long and glorious future, although, those preferring a more youthful fruit profile will relish it's intense, smooth sumptuousness.. A Barossa classic to wow your friends.

Rockford Rod & Spur Shiraz - Cabernet

Grant Burge Nebu Barossa Cabernet Shiraz

Strong Cabernet traits of black coffee, dark mint chocolate and earthy notes, whilst the Barossa Shiraz shines through the glass with aromas of plum, dark cherry and spice. Vibrant and complex, the Cabernet notes continue on the palate, whilst the thick and luxurious Shiraz provides lovely dark cherry and spice with a smook as cream finish.

Kellermeister Black Sash Shiraz

This wine is a memorial to the majestic old vines which were tragically uprooted from their Barossa Valley earth during the infamous Vine Pull scheme of the 1980s. Our century old estate vineyard bears the name Black Sash and pays tribute to the survivors those vines which serve as a living reminder of the value of resilience in the face of adversity and the relevance of tradition in an environment of constant change . This evocative wine captures this spirit. It has been handcrafted with the use of traditional methods from the fruit of old vines and delivers a rich, opulent palate, a fleshy core of dark fruit sweetness and a finish of superb length.

Kaesler Alte Reben Shiraz

Kaesler Alte Reben Shiraz was crafted using fruit sourced from the Marananga vineyard. Handpicked and left on skins for 7 days, the wine was pumped twice a day, followed by maturation in French oak. The resulting Shiraz wine obtained presents a deep red colour. Aromas of mulberry, blackberry, dark chocolate and espresso flow off the elegant bouquet. The scrumptious palate features juicy fruit flavours integrating with youthful oak tannins. This wonderful red varietal can be cellared gracefully for a few years. It tastes excellent with brisket, grilled lamb and beef stew.

Head The Contrarian Shiraz

Black with purple hues. Aromas of blue and red fruits, black pepper, tea, sherbert, liquorice and anise. Liquid black cherries, black jelly beans, some tar and sweet, smoky tea leaf tannins. Great with duck or caramelised pork.

Little Giant The Unearthed Shiraz

A modern Shiraz grown in the Ebenezer district in the north of the Barossa Valley. Made with Shiraz fruit sourced from high quality, low yielding vines, producing a long lived red that is rich and generous in flavour with intense red and black fruit concentration. The palate remains fresh with firm integrated oak and supple tannins on the long finish. Drinking well now but will cellar well for a decade or more.
