Some of our casks are matured in warehouses that are more exposed to the cooler sea air. The conditions in this coastal location affect our maturation climate and help create a smooth style of whisky that we call Sea Cask.

In years long-passed, Distillery workers would help themselves to a dram using a 'Copper Dog'; a pipe hidden inside the leg of their trousers. These Speyside rascals and characters are the inpsiration for this unique blend of eight single malt whiskies, slowly married together in old oak casks. Called The Monarch, Dewars 15 years old was named after the famous 1851 painting The Monarch of the glen by Sir Edwin Landseer, which was purchased by Tommy Dewar in 1916. Origins in that most widely celebrated of Scottish Islands: Skye, home of the Clan Macleod. Inspired by the city of Edinburgh and made with both demanding bartenders and malt whisky enthusiasts in mind, Artist Blend from Compass Box Whisky is the perfect Scotch whisky for creative drinking. Bottled with a very high proportion of single malt whiskies, this whisky brims with flavour notes of apple, salted caramel and baking spices with a noticeably creamy mouthfeel and finish.
