The Johannes family have recently purchased the Onikul Vineyard and renamed it the JohannesBurg Vineyard. This is a sentimental name as the family are of German heritage who were living in South Africa and recently moved to the Hunter Valley, Australia. Johannes - Family Name; Burg - German for fortress/castle; Johannesburg - South African city; JohannesBurg = Family Fortress. This small batch of Semillon is displaying grassy herbaceous aromas along with juicy sweet limes and crunchy green apples on the nose and palate which are indicative of this vineyard. Enjoyable now but those that can keep it for 5-7 years are in for a real treat! Limited Release of 190 Dozen.

Gundog Estate Hunter's Semillon

The intention with this wine is to deliver a modern style of Hunter Semillon which offers outstanding early drinking appeal in combination with an ability to age over the short to medium term. The frame is still fine, but the flavours are more generous. Try with Sydney Rock Oysters!

This premium Semillon is the traditional expression of the Hunter style. It has an attractive honey bouquet, with soft full bodied citrus & lime flavours. The finish is crisp and dry. Drinking nicely now, but with further careful cellaring it will develop the creamy & toasty characters, for which Hunter Semillon is revered.

Mount Pleasant 1946 Vines Lovedale Vineyard Hunter Valley Semillon Made from vines that Mount Pleasants founder, Maurice OShea, planted in 1946, the fruit for this Hunter classic is picked early in the day when its cool and only 500 Litres per tonne of the finest free run juice is then fermented and matured in stainless steel prior to bottling. The result is a wine that, while delicate and restrained in its youth, becomes richer and more complex over time while retaining its freshness due to the perfect balance of fruit and acidity.

De Iuliis Winemakers Selection Chardonnay

From one of Australia's oldest wine regions, the Hunter Valley. This chardonnay shows why it has become the most grown grape in the region. Subtle Aromas of vanillan oak with a hint of pear. A rich fruit palate combined with creamy texture from the oak, peaches linger in the clean finish.

Margan Hunter Valley Albarino

Margan Albarino is naturally high in acid and has ripe fruit flavours at lower levels of ripeness.This combination produces a fruit driven wine with great acid finish that needs no oak or residual sugar. The variety has a natural saltiness to it that makes it a fantastic food match.

De Iuliis Hunter Valley Chardonnay

Subtle aromas of vanillin oak and melon, with a hint of green pear. Oak and fruit are well balanced. A rich fruit palate combines with a creamy texture from the French Oak treatment. The aftertaste is clean, with lingering peach flavours. Drinks well now, but will continue to improve with 3-4 years further cellaring.
