Planted in the late 19th century, the High Trellis vineyard was the first d'Arenberg vineyard to be trained above knee height. For the past four decades, a Cabernet Sauvignon has been produced from the vineyard to critical acclaim, even winning the Jimmy Watson trophy in 1969. Deep red in colour. Fragrant blackcurrant and couverture chocolate aromas are embellished with notes of bay leaf and subtle toasted French oak. Blackberry and blueberry flavours flow through the medium to full bodied palate and linger with a talc-like minerality.

Lifted fragrances of fresh grass and citrus are given off by the lovely bouquet of this elegant Sauv Blanc. The crisp and refreshing palate is balanced by mouth-watering acidity.

The wine is gorgeously fruited and fragrant on the nose showing dark fruit richness with smoked game, vanilla, chocolate tart and cedar characters. The palate is concentrated and wonderfully weighted, delivering fabulous fruit intensity and stylish oak infusion, backed by fine chalky tannins, finishing superbly long and sturdy. Another excellent Cabernet from one of the modern day pioneers of organic farming in McLaren Vale, and it's even better if it's decanted before serving.Deep purple. Dark fruits, confectionary and exotic spices. Generous with intense varietal flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant, cassis and mulberry , hints of bay leaf and cedar adding complexity. Youthful with fine tannins and fresh acidity.

Battle of Bosworth Cabernet Sauvignon is a standout wine of flavoursome red fruits and currants; firmly structured, very rich and grippy. Deserves to be taken very seriously. Proof of such comes with the Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon at the 2011 McLaren Vale Wine Show.
