Affentals unique name derives from a pilgrimage chapel, which stood near the grapevines. In support of the pilgrims Ave Maria the valley was known as Ave Tal (Ave Valley) in the local vernacular, from which todays Affental (Valley of the monkeys) evolved. The origin of the Affental Wine Cooperative dates back to the year 1908. At the time, 24 winegrowers founded the Natural Winegrowing Association of Affental. From this, todays Affental Viticultural Cooperative was created over the years with approximately 240 hectares of vineyards. A majestic pale salmon colour in the glass is followed by lifted aromas of subtle strawberry and even notes of pomegranate and marzipan. The palate is crisp, yet generous with a superb long length. A wonderful wine to enjoy in the warmer weather or as an aperitif all year round.

The Rose is made solely from Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the Retief familys bio-dynamic vineyard near Wagga, and is made in the typical Provencal style of southern France with zero residual sugar, but palate texture and length.
