Oban is one of Scotlands oldest and smallest distilleries. It was founded in 1794 and the West Highland port town of the same name has grown around the distillery. It is the one Single Malt Scotch Whisky in which the rich, complex flavours of the Highlands meet and mingle with the peaty, maritime character of the Islands. Balancing autumn fruits and sea air, Oban whisky owes its rich and rewarding Highland character to a very long fermentation process. The tiny lamp glass-shaped copper pot stills that make Obans Scotch are among the smallest in Scotland, and the liquor they distil is slowly condensed in wooden worm tubs outside among the rooftops, exposed to the salted sea air, bringing a distinct depth of flavour said to go very well with salted caramel. Oban Little Bay is crafted by selecting small batches of our finest single malt whiskies, and marrying the whiskies in our smallest casks to allow more contact with the wood. This unique process, combined with the expert nose and palate of Malt Master, Dr. Matthew Crow, delivers a richer, smoother Oban expression with the signature distillery character of citrus and sea salt.

The Bladnoch Bicentennial Release has been matured for 29 years in Oloroso Sherry casks and finished in Moscatel casks for a final 18 months. Only 200 bottles were made to celebrate 200 years, making this an extremely rare release. Colour: Chestnut gold. Nose: Lovely rich old Sherry aromas, acacia, honey, beeswax, orange, fruitcake, a whiff of coffee and a hint of chocolate. Palate: Soft and silky Sherry flavours. Dark chocolate, ginger, spicy citrus notes, balanced oak and a hint of ground black pepper. Finish: Warming with a hint of honeyed spiciness. Satisfying and long.

Glenglassaugh has been described as a 'coastal' distillery, being located on the north coast of Speyside near Glen Deveron and Banff. Founded in 1875, between 1960 and 1986 it produced malt whiskies for the blending market, in particular the Cutty Sark and Famous Grouse blends. However, it suffered from the recession riddled decline that plagued the Scotch whisky industry in the early 1980's and was mothballed in 1986. It restarted production in November 2008 after being acquired by independent investors, the Edrington Group, following a complete refurbishment by the new owners. Retasted April 2018... Brilliant gold. Super pure with scents of beeswax, pineapple pudding and fruit’n’nut chocolate. Rounded and poised with a chocolaty edge to the malt, following through to a juicy, textural finish featuring tangy tropical fruits and a spicy burst that fans out in the mouth. A brief shellac and glue blemish turns to peppermint and honeycomb - a combination that's a sheer delight. Gains more vanilla and toffee with aeration. Lagavulin Special Release 2022 The Flames of the Phoenix 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 57.3% ABV, Islay For whisky aficionados and collectors, Diageos annual Special Release is unmissable. The 2022 edition is arguably the best yet, and this stellar cask-strength selection from Lagavulin is a definite highlight. This is an elemental Lagavulin crafted from virgin oak and their smokiest reserves, in which rich, peaty casks lead saltiness, spice and smoke on their eternal dance with deep sweetness. This year, the decision was made to make as smoky a Lagavulin as we could. Mortlach Special Release 2022 The Lure of the Blood Moon Single Malt Scotch Whisky 57.8% ABV, Speyside Once underappreciated, Mortlachs quality and collectibility continues to rise and rise with each passing year. The 2022 Special Release is a deliciously rich expression of Mortlachs dark, meaty character that draws sweetness, darkness, and depth together in a mystical, intensely fruity union.

Part of Diageo's stable, Mortlach enjoys a cult status amongst whisky drinkers thanks to its thick, meaty texture. That unique spirit comes from a complex and unique distillation program, which sees the new make pass through a number of stills of varying shapes and sizes. In the end, it is said that Mortlach distill their spirit 2.81 times. The complex regime results in a thick, meaty spirit - one of Scotland's thickest - and has been prized by independent bottlers and drinkers since the vaunted 16-year-old Flora & Fauna release put it into the public psyche.

A limited-edition 30-year-old single malt from Mortlach, Midnight malt was initially matured in a combination of refill American oak and European oak casks, before being finished in Bordeaux wine, Calvados and Guatemalan rum casks, then married and further matured in custom quarter casks. A release of just 350 limited bottles. NOSE A mellow nose with some initial prickle. This settles in time to reveal a savoury and faintly herbal top note, suggesting pork crackling sprinkled with dry sage. PALATE A richly winey, apple fruity and mouth-watering start delights the palate, backed by a long spicy intensity with a delicious black pepper note that really persists. FINISH Long, sweet and deep-flavoured, with a light peppery spiciness. With water, still sweet and softer, with the spicy heat joined by a suggestion of mint chocolate in the lingering aftertaste.
