This is a superb example of what Clynelish can produce even at younger age. The balance is sublime and the mouthfeel is perfectly rounded. The 14YO exhibits zesty citrus notes and smoky overtones, perfectly balanced mouthfeel with flavours of orange, mixed fruit, vanilla and salty coastal seaweed and a long spicy, oaky finish.

Aged in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in sherry casks. Double Wood is an excellent example of what the Balvenie distillery can craft, even at 12 years.

The Glenfiddich 18 Year Old Single Malt is made in small batches from sherry and bourbon casks, hand selected by the Glenfiddich Malt Master. The nose is full of dessert wines, a little fruitiness with a good barley sweetness. After maturing the whisky for 21 years, the Malt Master adds even warmer and richer flavours by uniquely finishing this single malt in first fill bourbon barrels that once contained rum from the Caribbean. The rum soaked cask infuses the aged whisky with a spicy warmth and indulgent vanilla and toffee sweetness, the character of the Caribbean shining through. This gives the whisky a sumptuous sweet intensity that is both rich and creamy yet still retains the unmistakable character of Glenfiddich.
