Mc Chouffe Dark Belgian Beer is perfect for those lovers of dark beer. It has a distinctive flavour, a dark ruby colour, and a fine creamy head to create a very unique beer. The story begins in the late 1970s, in the middle of the Vallée des Fées (the Valley of the Fairies), when two brothers-in-law, Pierre Gobron and Chris Bauweraerts decided to create their own beer in the garage belonging to Chris’ mother-in-law. With the little money they had at the time, they began what the brewery’s fans now call the “Chouffe Story”. The 1st brew of 49 litres was produced on 27 August 1982.

Pours dark brown-red. A compact white-yellow, stable and lacing head. Touches of caramel, mocha and chocolate. Spices such as liquorice and coriander are present on the nose. Initially, a very good mouthfeel of alcohol and softness. This is followed by an increasing bitterness, partially from the hop, but also from the roasted malt and chocolate malt. Towards the end a nice balance between bitterness, sour and sweet.
