Each facet symbolises the traditional Japanese lunar calendar celebrating the 24 hours within the 24 seasons of the year. The label is made from pure Echizen Washi, a traditional Japanese paper, designed by the artist Eriko Horiki. Each washi is carefully handcrafted using authentic materials and traditional Japanese methods. The "HIBIKI" kanji was written by the renowned calligrapher Tansetsu Ogino, accentuating the elegance of the washi.This Suntory Whisky "HIBIKI 21 year" has Mt. Fuji drawn in austere black and white with Japanese Plum, Pine and Bamboo painted on its skirts - symbolising felicitations, wishing happiness and good fortunes. Also echoed is the Japanese sensitivity to the transience of seasons. Deeply aromatic, quintessentially Japanese and aesthetically, the design is fitting for "HIBIKI", envisions "live in harmony with people and nature".

A blend from Chugoku Jozo, who mature their whiskies in a tunnel rather than a warehouse. The temperature of the tunnel is always 15 degrees while the temperature of the cellar at the headquarters in Hatsukaichi city is a little higher than that. This blend includes a sublte peated component.
