2019 Layla Pinot Noir is reflective of the cooler and later conditions of the 2019 growing season. Warmer years produce a more forward and plush style, the cooler years a more restrained, tightly wound and structured version. The aromatics and flavours of this wine are floral with black cherry, herbs, ferrous minerals and floral notes. It’s light yet complex and seamless. Texturally the Layla Pinot Noir is silken. Open and expressive aromas of mulled strawberry, forest floor and clove. Plush and polished palate, delivering a riot of red berry perfume, and velvet umami throughout, enhanced by damp earth, mushroom and stalk and charry barrel harmony.

This wine is as bright as a button, it bursts with energy from the rich fruit that as been created in the purest way possible, from vineyard to the bottle. It has great aromatics. The savoury style of the wine is supported with flavours of spices, bright berries and red plums and a touch of new oak. A very quaffable for the price.
