Bekkers Syrah Grenache McLaren Vale The Syrah is sourced from red clay-loam over siltstone rock in Clarendon (which they now own) and Grenache from sand over orange sandy-clay in the much vaunted Blewitt Springs. Picked by hand, vinified with 15-30% whole bunches and cold soaked for 5-6 days before natural fermentation and basket pressed to aged French oak 500L puncheons. Deep inky purple with a nose of lavender, violets, blueberry, blackberry, Indian spices and a palate of leafy blackcurrant and a long, soft, silky texture.

Bekkers Grenache McLaren Vale Sourced from three distinct vineyards of varying personality owning to rocky outcrops to ancient beach sands. Picked by hand, the fruit is vinified with 20% whole bunches and cold soaked for 5-6 days before natural fermentation and being basket pressed to aged French oak 500L puncheons. Sourced from two vineyards, the youngest 60 years of age, and then made without sulphur or fining agents. Designed to be enjoyed whilst young and fresh.Very fresh red to purple. Raspberry, cherry, earth and pomegranate. fruit characters flow on from the nose with a velvety mouthfeel, rounded and gentle tannin harmony and lovely savoury persistence. A great young-drinker.

The McLaren Vale can be considered the true home of Grenache blends here in Australia witho some of the oldest vines in the world being dry grown there. Crafted from two unique McLaren Vale vineyards as our celebration of Grenache - 1947 planted Grenache bush vines growing in deep sand and 1990 planted single-wire trellised vines.Medium deep, dark cherry in colour. Lifting fragrant aromas of strawberry/raspberry jujube, rose petal, lavender, cinnamon and star anise. Flavours of dark cherry, pomegranate and chocolate earth flow through the medium weight palate. Fine tannins and natural acidity focus the fruit into the moreish, savoury finish.
