Kaesler Wines W.O.M.S. Shiraz Cabernet, Barossa Valley W.O.M.S. stands for ‘Weapon of Mass Seduction.’ When it comes to the name of this wine, there are two camps – those who like it and those who very much don’t. Conduct this survey before and after tasting and the results will be quite different. Many in the ‘no’ camp, will switch sides after tasting this classic Australian blend of Shiraz (planted 1961) and Cabernet Sauvignon (planted 1985). Expect black cherry, vanilla and swatch of savoury notes. The WONS is made only in years where the fruit reaches dizzying heights in terms of quality. After pressing, the free-run juice is collected over a day and a half before making its way into mature Nevers oak. There it will remain in that state for more than two years prior to the final blending. Bottled without fining or filtering, the result is a wine that Kaesler advise will age for 30 years. But why so conservative? It could go on and on but it does need a bit of time in the cellar.

Blackcurrant accompanied by violets, brown spice, leather and licorice.ntense Cabernet Sauvignon varietal characters, multi-layered flavours. Full bodied, powerful, abundant fine tannins. The savoury notes of black olive and dark chocolate add structure and texture.

Not only contains what we consider some of Barossa's best Shiraz, to complement, special parcels of Cabernet is also added to show a full spectrum of fruit across the board. It is the perfect match on its own, a spiritual mixture of Ying and Yang. A fine example of the Australia Blend, cellar with patience and you will find its amazing value.

Deep dark colour with purple hues. The bouquet is rich in blackcurrants, chocolate and hints of aniseed. The palate is superbly balanced with dark berry fruits and plums,silky tannins giving rich and generous mouthfeel.

The Pepperjack winemakers are conscious of modern wine styles, and are creating wines that reflect our passion for this special region. The Pepperjack wines are rich and honest - showcasing the Barossas outstanding qualities. The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon shows aromas of ripe dark berry fruits, black currants and plums with mint and varietal leafy tones. The palate is rich and flavoursome, full of plush, dark fruit with some savouriness and hints of oak. The tannins are soft. Generous length and balance finishing rich and soft.

Impenetrable midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced aromas of blackcurrant infused with black olive escape from the glass trailed by some cigar box, bay leaf and spice. Rich blackcurrant and plum fruits are interwoven with a cedary tobacco, subtle black olive and spicy bay leaf characters. Fine grained tannins provide a sturdy support base. Concludes long, ripe and spicy. Drink over the next 4-5 years. Alc. 14.2%
