Named after the famed Johann Gramp's grandson, Hugo, this is the very best Cabernet Sauvignon in the stable. From the very best sites in the region of Coonawarra, this wine shows classic regional mint and blackcurrant on the nose with a silky supple palate, elegant fruit characters, toasty oak and long, fine tannins.

From only the best vintages, certain parcels of fruit with exceptional character are released separately under this label. Fruit for this wine comes entirely from our ‘Abbey’ estate vineyard at the Parker Cellar Door, specifically the ‘95 Block’. The 95 Block sub-section of our vineyard is located west of the cellars and is planted with Reynell selection Cabernet Sauvignon. The best oak is lavished on Odyssey, and is absorbed by the rich, dense fruit with ease. 5 years+ in our programme and the oak integration is complete, the tannins softened and the texture silken. A special occassion wine at the best of times, the 2013 vintage is still improving and should retain its best attributes for another ten years.
