The Brand family story starts with the arrival of Eric Brand in Coonawarra in 1950. Today Brand & Sons is run by Sam Brand, the 4th generation of this family, which has played a major role in Coonawarra for over 70 years. This is a Coonawarra Shiraz of great acclaim and considerable complexity. "The 'Remnants' is a reference to the ancient sea bed that formed the hardened limestone seen throughout Coonawarra. Blackberry, dark cherry pit and elderberry. Hawthorn and kampot peppers. Nyon olive, sea moss and granite. There is a volcanic rock or mineral element that speaks on ancient seabed and time passing its a wine for those that like to ponder. Decant and its linear frame and perky acidity. ThisShiraz is carefully crafted from fruit grown on our Riddoch Run Estate Vineyard. This fresh winedisplays dark forest fruits, cassis, pepper and spices, framed in bright aromatic oak.Fresh blueberries, rhubarb and dark chocolate are on show, along with a good depth of flavour, ripe and supple tannins provide a long finish.

The Founder's Block shiraz features aromas of vibrant dark and red-berry fruit, hints of violet and cinnamon spice notes. Lots of soft tannins, some vanillin oak making for a harmonious and balanced wine for the price.

Bowen Estate Shiraz shared similar firm structure as it's sibling, the Cabernet Sauvignon. It's lifted aromas of ripe black fruits, warming spices and hint of earthy background makes it a welcoming drink with hearty food.

Elgins Crossing commemorates pioneering vigneron John Riddochs outward voyage to Australia aboard the sailing ship Lady Elgin in 1851. An expressive Coonawarra red with saturated raspberry, satsuma plum, red currant fruits, supple loose knit tannins, integrated roasted walnut notes and superb mineral length. Enjoy in its youth now or carefully cellar for the medium term.

Located within the ‘Old Town’ of Coonawarra this one-acre Shiraz vineyard was planted in the early 1950’s. The combination of old-vines, terroir and careful hand-tending produces a wine with a distinguished sense of place and style. Despite its age, the ‘House Block’ vineyard, located within the township of Coonawarra continues to flourish with deep roots reaching through the Terra-Rossa and Limestone to the pure aquifer below.

Coonawarra blockbuster, the Katnook Prodigy Shiraz is a wonderful example of supreme Coonawarra Shiraz. Savoury spice and dark berry fruits with a hint of white pepper. An elegant wine with medium intensity and great length.

This Shiraz delivers bold dark-fruits along with rich red-berry concentrates. Touches of subtle oak and pepper complete the palate, supported by a fine tannin structure.

Hidden Ridge Shiraz displays lifted red berry aromas with hints of cedar and mocha notes. These flavours surround the palate with a subtle chocolate mint flavour, toasty oak notes and firm tannins to a long finish.
