Stockyard takes its name from the 100+ year old stone ruin on our Farms vineyard. Originally a slaughterhouse, today it occupies a much more serene position overlooking rows of low-yielding Shiraz vines. Seductive aromas of blackberry, plum and liquorice with savoury white spice on the nose, the palate is rich and concentrated with dark fruit flavours. The spice carries through to the palate, backed by intensely powerful tannins and integrated oak characters from eighteen months maturation in new and one-year-old French and American hogsheads. This wine will benefit from careful cellaring for 5 years and beyond.

We've been intently following Alex Head for a while now, producing a unique set eye opening Barossan wines, inspirationally drawn from his passion towards Northern Rhone Syrah. Soil and aspect is therefore every much key, imparting style and character and this new release Head Red is no exception. Yangarra Estate is a biodynamic wine farm in the McLaren Vale devoted solely to producing wines from the best grape varieties of the southern Rhone. Shiraz from the Yangarra estate vineyard adopts more of a cooler climate expression than the typical McLaren Vale style, thanks to the vineyards elevation and cooling night breezes from the nearby Southern Lofty Ranges, but retains concentration and complexity. lots of lifted violet aromas, with fresh cherries and plums, with a soft and juicy palate and fine elegant tannins.

Occupying some of the more elevated land in the Canberra District, Quarry Hill produces a Shiraz with ripe flavours and excellent natural acids; the hallmarks of great cool-climate Shiraz. Aged in a mix of new and older French oak, the wine is bright purple in the glass, follwed by aromas of raspberry, plum, spice and a little pepper. Through the palate, there are flavours of mulberry and plum, fine tannins and a crisp, dry finish.

Sourced from vineyards surrounding Canberra, the Clonakilla O'Riada Shiraz has been lovingly embraced as little brother to the iconic Shiraz Viognier. Also co-fermented with a touch of Viognier, the O'Riada shows a more fruit forward presence, yet still with that unmistakable Tim Kirk elegance and purity that is a theme throughout all of his wines.

The Shiraz grapes for The Struie come from old vines in the Barossa and Eden Valleys. The Eden component brings floral spicy aromas that are supported by more brooding notes of tar and chocolate from the Barossa. The palate is luscious and silky, and this is a Fine Wine favourite.

Named after Patricia Brown, the Patricia Shiraz is Brown Brothers benchmark Shiraz boasting richly concentrated, spicy fruit flavours balanced elegantly by sweet oak flavours and fine tannins resulting in a full-bodied, rich, textured red wine which can be enjoyed now and will continue to develop for the next decade.

Shingleback owners John & Kym Davey produce a lovely, rich McLaren Vale Shiraz here with aromas of ripe cherry fruit, milk chocolate and licorice. Plush and sweet fruited on the palate, the tannins are soft and supple. Wonderful drinking.
