The aroma is rich with flavours of ripe blackcurrant and savoury herbs. The flavour shows spice and vanilla oak with a smooth structure and silky finish. Related to the Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon grapes have a thick skin making them higher in tannins than varieties such as Pinot Noir. This grape is popular due to its ability to be grown in a range of soils and climates from Australia and abroad such as Coonawarra, Margaret River, France and Chile. Rich varietal characters of plum, spice and pepper are woven through the minty regional notes and framed by fine, firm tannins.

Wynns 'Red Stripe' Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot continues to be a market leader and beacon for quality wine at an affordable price. Cabernet brings cassis and mint, while spice and plummy fruit is provided by the Shiraz and Merlot. Drink now or cellar for a year or two.
