Wild Oats is the current vision of wine industry stalwart, Bob Oatley. Known for his adverturous side, in fact Bob had his start back in the Hunter Valley in the 1960s. A blend of both Mudgee and Margaret River fruit, the Wild Oats Cab Merlot links the east and west coast of Australia with rich, smooth and velvety fruit and is enjoyable served on all occasions.

Classic Margaret River nose of cassis, mulberries and capsicum. Fermentation and development in French and American oak, gives this wine a delicious mouthful of sweet fruit with notes of chocolate, cedar and plums.

Notes of mint and five-spice are evident on a sturdily constructed palate of black olive, herbs and dark fruits alongside fine, ripe tannins that will support the development of additional character and complexity if cellared.

Vasse Felix produces fine Margaret River reds with great balance and style. Xanadu Fusion Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits vibrant, characteristic aromas of ripe blackcurrants, dark berry fruits, and black plums entwined with savoury hints of bay leaf and spicy, toasty oak. The full-bodied palate is packed full of juicy fruits of the forest, cassis and mocha flavours. A generous wine, with a solid tannin structure and fleshy fruit characters which persist through to a warm, lingering finish.

A brilliant wine of richness and sweetness upon release, time in our climate controlled cellars has amplified those secondary characters of herb, cedar and mocha to deliver a perfectly balanced, and affordable cellared wine.

This wine is classic Coonawarra in style with ripe berry and cassis aromas and flavours layered over fine tannins. Cabernet is the major component and backbone with Merlot adding softness and drinkability.
