The 2009 is a 60% Shiraz and 40% Cabernet blend and spends 20 months in a mixture of French and American Oak that will see the wine not only be enjoyable now, but develop beautifully in the bottle for a further 8 to 10 years.

Casillero Del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon is medium bodied with silky tannins and long ripe fruit and berry aftertaste, with impressive balance of fruit and polished tannins.

The Eden Valley altitudes were always going to be the source for Kym Teusner's grand Cabernet statement. The fruit is awesome beyond belief, and it shows in this ridiculously underpriced masterstroke. An entitled mouthful of dark currants and blue fruits have a lasting depth all their own, wrapped in a precision poised tannin structure with grip and presence, yet silky throughout. Devil's Lair The Hidden Cave is a concept from a Margaret River icon that showcases the daring with a twist of exoticism. The Cabernet Shiraz delivers aromas mocha, coffee and cassis with a hint of star anise. Tobacco leaf is also present which gives way to a rich and voluptuous palate of blackberries and dark chocolate. A truly engaging blend.

Ben Riggs has hand-crafted a delicious Shiraz Cabernet Merlot blend here that pays homage to the three-spiked prickle that can be found in the McLaren Vale region and the fact that it's hard to ignore. This unctuous red blend is also extremely hard to ignore with its seamless varietal integration that produces a wine full of richness and opulence. Ripe, dark berry fruits courtesy of Merlot along with spice elements from the Shiraz and a firm, but balanced structure from the Cabernet all come together superbly.

Church Block first appeared back in 1972 under the watchful eye of Greg Trott who was taken by one of the original vineyards that ran alongside the small Bethany Church, across the road from Wirra Wirra's old ironstone cellars. Over the last 4 decades, Church Block has become one of Australia's favourites with its rich, full-bodied style consisting of swathes of black and blue fruits and a nice, smooth finish that seems to last ever so long for such an affordable red wine.

Continuing the tradition of rich full bodied Clare reds this Cabernet Sauvignon shows ripe blackberry aromas and generous flavour with a touch of cedary oak and fine tannins.
