"Scuro" is a blend of Sangiovese and Shiraz from our Dark Horse Vineyard, co-harvested and co-fermented. Scuro (meaning "Dark") is named for both its Italian roots and for the impressive dark colour that took us by surprise during fermentation. Extended maturation in French Oak Hogsheads has resulted in a powerful and generous wine with a deep ruby hue, rich palate and great cellaring potential. Farnese Edizione gives a very deep garnet red colour. The nose is intense and persistent with notes of cherry and blackcurrant, herbs, cinnamon, cloves, cocoa, liquorice and hints of mineral. The palate has great structure, good balance between alcohol and freshness, velvety tannins, very persistent with a long finish, ready to drink, or can be put in the cellar for a few years.
