Long before there were beer geeks, there were zythophiles. Related to the Greek verb zeo, meaning "to boil', a zythophile is a lover of all things beer. We've called it Zesty because it's high on flavour and drinkability, thanks to the shrewd balancing of some of the world's most enticing aroma hops with a medium malt profile. This is our take on the American Red Ale style. This little brew has been hopped with Tasmanian Ella Hops giving her a subtle yet moreish apricot & pine nose. A complex grain bill of 7 different malts have created a biscuity, earthy ale with an apricot/passionfruit hopped taste, with a nice undertone of bitterness. It's easy to fall for and impossible to have only one. Note; We originally used fresh hops from 2017's harvest in this brew. Picked less than 24hrs before we brewed with them, these little green buds of bitterness brought a fresh bite to the ale that had to be tasted to believed. It's fair to say we loved it so much we just had to keep making it, and it turns out, she is now one of our most popular brews.
