A superb WA classic from Five Red Star Howard Park, originally set up by John Wade and named in honour of his father, now part of Burch Family Wines, a founding member of Australia’s First Families of Wines. “No barrel fermentation or lees working, the two varieties having a close natural affinity with each other. Has a gamy, ripe nose with a savoury but flavoursome mouth-feel. The silky texture takes on meaty complexity on the middle palate while the long, soft finish is rich and spicy.

The new vintage has resulted in aromas of white peach and pear blossom mingled with underlying crisp red apple notes. The palate displays ripe succulent peach notes, while the mid palate is full, creamy and well textured. The wine has a rich, spice infused finish.

An excellent Pinot - low yielding vines growing in calcium rich clay, within stoney subsoils derive a fine fruit. Extended brilliantly, sunny cool autumnal freshness has led to a wine of finesse and character.
