The Brewery: Untouched 1960’s facade of the Public Bar and Brewery building has long been an icon on the streetscape of industrial Marrickville. Behind the exterior, the old yoghurt factory stood empty for over 20 years before Philter moved in. We’re proud to bring the building back to life and become part of the historical fabric of the suburb we know and love.
Mountain Goat Organic Steam Ale is a crisp, certified organic ale. Incorporating wheat malt in the grist make up and fermented cool, with the use of Hallertau and Citra hops along with a light dose of Galaxy flowers at the end.
Once poured, peach and citrus drift from the pint, spurring imagery of backyard trees laden with fruit. The first mouthful sends pineapple, sweet malt and a gentle bitterness across the palate. Its light-bodied, cruisy and brewed with the session in mind.

With subtle hops, full malt, and a soft clean finish Stone & Woods hand crafted Green Coast Lager is influenced by the surrounding green hills in the Northern Rivers that roll down to meet the Pacific Ocean. Unfiltered, it has a light amber colour with a natural yeast cloud, and a flavour that strikes a balance between its subtle hop aroma and full malt palate, finishing soft and clean. Something so fine, yet so complex requires quality ingredients, attention to detail and finesse to produce. The best grain adds both softness to the palate and a full bodied malt character, whilst noble hops provide a subtlety and harmony that takes time to get right, and like the good things in life, it just cant be rushed, so take it slow.
