The Hamelin Bay vineyard was established by the Drake-Brockman family. Regional pioneers, Richard Drake-Brockman’s great-grandmother, Grace Bussell, was famous for rescuing shipwreck survivors in 1876, aged 16. Today the winery has a commitment to quality, sustainability, and showcasing the unique characteristics of the region. This classic Margaret River Semillon Sauvignon Blanc (SSB) blend has two Golds. Forester Estate Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a clean, fruit driven wine style showing herbaceous, citrus and lifted floral characters distinct to Margaret River. Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon is delicate yet full, the palate is distinctively lemon and lime with subtle star anise, lemongrass and clove. Richness and weight are balanced with fresh acidity, giving direction and finesse.

The clever team from this winery have created three labels that that all over deliver that their price points. The middle tier, Stella Bella, is a Fine Wine favourite, and this blend shows why. Fresh citrus, gooseberry, custard apple, stone fruits, sweet herbs & spice are all rolled into one great little wine.

The Deep Woods Estate Hillside Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a wine that can be enjoyed on release but will find further complexity over the next two to three years. The palate is clean and lively with tremendous depth of ripe stone-fruit and the aroma of nectarine, ripe citrus and white blossom.

The classic Margaret River blend. Pale green in colour, with aromas of succulent Sauvignon Blanc and grassy Semillon. The palate is flint-dry with an initial impact of sweet racy fruit and a fine and lengthy finish.

Vasse Felix Classic Dry White contains flavours of gooseberries that dominate the aroma of this blend with hints of stone fruit and perfume in the background. Fresh and lively with lovely texture and good length of flavour it is ideal summer drinking.

Voyager Estate in the Margaret River seem to have a mortgage on this style! An attractive herbal edge on the nose is supported by a lemony/minerally palate with terrific acid and length.

The Hidden Cave range from Devil's Lair is the chance for the winemakers at this iconic Margaret River winery to express the daring and exciting edge to the regions wines. Their Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a racy little aromatic white with exotic aromas of crushed basil and lychee that are followed by flavours of gooseberry, mango and passionfruit. All capped off with some lime zest on the finish to complete this supreme crisp dry white wine.

It's nice to see a straight varietal Semillon from Margaret River that hasn't been blended with its regular partner Sauvignon Blanc, and this is a delicious example.Excellent straw green colour. Bright and primary lime, lemon and green apple. Fine lemon and lime juice entry with good tension and length, mouth-watering acidity, some pithy textural elements and a fresh finish.
