Don Julio Añejo spends more than the minimum requirement of 1 year on oak, and is normally aged between 18 months and two years before it reaches its optimum age and taste profile. Mars Komagatake Single Malt 'Wine Cask Finish' was produced in collaboration with Voyager Estate from the famous Margaret River region in Western Australia. Only 266 bottles were produced. This Single Malt was distilled at Mars Shinshu Distillery in 2015 and matured in bourbon barrels over 3 years. It was then aged for 11 months in French Troncais oak. This cask was previously used to age Voyager Estate's flagship red wine, their 2014 'MJW' Cabernet Sauvignon.
