The 2008 marks the 25th anniversary of Dalwhinnie Chardonnay in the Pyrenees in western Victoria, and the wine is still not missing a beat. With less oak used now than in previous vintages, the wine exhibits magnificent citrus and mineral flavours and aromas with a delicate honey flavour notes and texture. A truly elegant wine.

Beets, flowers, game hide and vegetal spice. The palate for this Albarino by Castro Martin is gentle and very graceful with a velvety mouth feel. Deep and supple, it has fantastic volume and spread in the mouth without weight. The oak is well integrated with the acid adding juicy sourness to the fruit.

This unfiltered Chardonnay was made at Giaconda by Rick Kinzbrunner using traditional techniques. Quite sublime buttery richness with perfect balance of acid and oak integration.

A fine and quite flinty modern expression of Margaret River Chardonnay. Finer and leaner it might be in some ways, but the unmistakable power and persistence of the region still triumphs.
