Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Years Old
Rare Perfection 15 Year Old Strength Canadian Whisky
The Rare Perfection whiskies are just that ”exceedingly rare and just about as perfect as whisky gets. The careful selection for this brand is unmatched in the industry. Nationality doesn't apply.” If it's a true rarity and the whiskey is great, it can be bottled. This lot of Rare Perfection 15-year whiskey is made from a bourbon mash bill of corn, wheat, and malted barley that was distilled in Canada. This whiskey was originally intended to be aged in a cold warehouse for a relatively short period of time, but the distillery was sold off and these barrels were forgotten in the back of the warehouse and left to age in the cold Canadian air. 15 years later these barrels were discovered, dumped, and bottled at barrel proof. Rare Perfection 15 year is a limited release that was bottled at cask strength, 119.7 proof.
Very Olde St. Nick Ancient 8 Year Old Rye Whiskey
Very Olde St. Nick Ancient Cask 8 year old rye whiskey is a rare bottling of a first-class Canadian rye whiskey released exclusively for the Japanese market. This legendary rye whiskey was crafted and bottled using crystal clear water, the finest quality ingredients and small premium charred oak barrels, giving it a unique and smooth flavour. This edition of the Ancient Cask 8 Year Old Rye is stupendous. Golden straw in colour and lusciously smooth it's a bit of a dichotomy on the palate. It has tremendous sweetness and weight, but immense rye spice at the same time. The Old St Nick legend has taken on a life of its own with many claiming inside information, or knowledge about who first developed the product and why, it’s original pedigree, the source of its bourbons, and the story behind the eclectic style. The Very Olde St Nick myth is a reality with a wonderful story…in fact many stories. As many as the infinite miniscule number of releases from this highly prized producer for more than 30 years!! Very Olde St. Nick is a whiskey label that was originally bottled by Julian Van Winkle and Kentucky Bourbon Distillers exclusively for the Japanese export market back in the early 2000s. Back then, the Japanese market was much more interested in aged bourbons and ryes than the the American market.

The Macallan Edition No. 5 Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Note: Product has come from a private collection and as such has some minor scuffing/scratches/handling marks. Actual product not shown. If you would like information on specific signs of wear, please contact us on freecall 1800 069 295. The Macallan Edition No. 5 is a homage to the diversity and complexity of natural colour, celebrating Macallan’s commitment to natural whisky. It follows Editions No 1 and No 2, focused on cask influence; Edition No 3, which explored the impact of aroma; and Edition No 4, which was focused on structure. Sarah Burgess, whisky maker for Macallan, adds, "Whilst colour development starts with mixing basic colours with precision to achieve different shades, when it comes to whisky making, it is the knowledge and understanding of a specific palette of colours from the cask which is the starting-point." The colour connection is made all the more salient by ‘a uniquely bold shade of purple’ used on the label, developed by designers at the Pantone Colour Institute in New Jersey. 48.5% Alc./Vol.
The Kurayoshi 18 Year Old Pure Malt Japanese Whisky
Jim Murray's Japanese Whisky of the Year for 2022. The small-scale craft (or Ji) whiskies from Kurayoshi have been impressive. Blenders here often combine malt whisky from Scotland with locally produced whisky. This is not an uncommon practice in Japan, and the exact breakdown typically remains undisclosed. There have been several strong reviews for the 18 YO (see below). One can't help noticing the similarity in packaging to Suntory's Yamazaki 18...
Michel Couvreur Blossoming Auld Sherried Single Malt Whisky
Tasting note: The deep mahogany / gold ochre hue stains the sides of the glass and shows good viscosity. Mildly prickly aroma offers suggestions of pancake, dilute maple syrup and mocha. Little variation in the second phase which, if anything sees the intensity drop a notch. Light entry opens to a plush, clean, richly sherried profile; semi sweet Christmas cake flavours, hollowing out at the finish, concluding with vanilla and caramel at the fade. 45% Alc./Vol.
