Shiraz from the Yangarra estate vineyard adopts more of a cooler climate expression than the typical McLaren Vale style, thanks to the vineyards elevation and cooling night breezes from the nearby Southern Lofty Ranges, but retains concentration and complexity. lots of lifted violet aromas, with fresh cherries and plums, with a soft and juicy palate and fine elegant tannins.

Aroma: The nose is ripe with black plum, black berry, cherry, blueberry, black currant and chocolate. Palate: Ripe with plum sauce, black berry. It is full bodied with great balance. Food Matching: Sichuan Food, Barbecue, Spaghetti, Cheese Gratin.

Vibrant in colour with intense purple hues, the aromatics are all red florals with notes of berry crumble and baking spices. The palate is layered with brooding red fruits, mulberry, black cherry and blood plum. Star anise, fennel and freshly crushed peppercorns add complexity to this luscious core. Tension and weighty fruit are followed by long chewy tannin which drives to a silky finish.

If you love your big, bold and brash Barossa Shiraz, then look no further. Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz produce wine of utmost power and strength. Their Gnarly Dudes is a perfect example. Bold black and blue fruits dominate with a healthy smattering of oak to hold everything in place. Sumptuous!

Vibrant, youthful colour, medium density and lovely purple tints for this Shiraz by Brokenwood. Being a cooler year the aromas are more on the spice cherry side than ripe and opulent. Medium weight palate and again spice and savoury edges. The tell-tale McLaren Vale jube fruit is there along with background oak.
