Henschke The Wheelwright

Henschke Tappa Pass Shiraz

Henschke have in recent years begun to identify and single out great quality parcels of Shiraz fruit that deserves to be bottled seperately and released as part of their Vineyard Selection. The Tappa Pass Shiraz is sourced from old low yielding Barossa vineyards that shows amazing depth and concentration. Rich, lush and intense it will develop further complexity with bottle age.

Rockford Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon

While many seek out the Basket Press Shiraz, it would be a disservice to ignore this opulent and concentrated Barossa Cabernet from Rockford. The Rifle Range actually has a lovely elegant and structured bent to it, some real class. A core of blackcurrant that is complimented by savour touches that lift the wine to some extraordinary levels.

St Hallett Higher Earth Syrah

St Hallett Higher Earth Syrah St Halletts Higher Earth Syrah marks a new chapter for a brand known for its bold, unmistakably Barossan Shiraz. This wine, a true Syrah style, is lighter on its toesethereal, evenwith perfume that skips from the glass, and a juicy freshness that calls for drinking, with pleasure, right now. It seeks to represent with purity and grace the high altitude and cool climate of the Eden Valley, a showcase of this unique sub-region.The fruit for Higher Earth comes from parcels in four of St Hallets Eden Valley vineyards. Each parcel is treated individually according to its readiness and maturity. Unlike other St Hallett cuvées, Higher Earth is fermented at cool temperatures to instil vigour and freshness. It is aged in 25% new French oak. The result is a Syrah with lashings of dark fruit flavour and a lick of black pepper spice.

Powell & Son Loechel Shiraz

Powell & Son Loechel Eden Valley Shiraz Powell & Son (first vintage 2014) is the venture of Barossa Valley legend Dave Powell and his son Callum. The Loechel Shiraz is sourced from a single vineyard at the southern tip of the Eden Valley township, above the Barossa Valley. It was planted in the early 1970s on granitic loam, at 400m. The vineyard has an easterly aspect and is steeply sloping, with excellent drainage and low yields, resulting in concentrated fruit and a rich, complex wine. The vineyard is picked in three passes and components are kept separate throughout vinification. Only about one-third makes it into the Loechel Shiraz. The wine typically shows generous dark ripe fruits -- blackberry, cherry liqueur and cassis -- supported by dark chocolate and mocha notes and subtle herbs and spice. The palate adds smoky, savoury and meaty notes and is medium to full-bodied, yet concentrated, so as to provide long and satisfying flavours and a long, persistent, structured finish.

Estate Grenache

Turkey Flat has more than 25 years experience in making Grenache.
