Produced from 40 year old vines in the Clare Valley's renowned Watervale district this superb Riesling shows vibrant citrus fruit on the nose with deep minerally flavours and a crisp lingering finish.

Aromas of lemon, grapefruit juice, brown lime and white flowers combine with a lick of mineral and wet slate on the nose. The palate is refreshing, with flavours of grapefruit and citrus rind with a white floral lift. The fruit weight shows the hallmarks of Watervale Riesling with zesty acidity, that gives line but still allows a sense of generosity.

This wine has typical Riesling citrus flavours powered by lime juice and passionfruit fruit with hints of toast and honey which develop on the palate which compliment the fruit providing crispiness and multi-layered flavours.

For John Hughes, the attraction to Riesling is all encompassing. Growing up on a small vineyard in the Clare Valley, and going on to work with some of the brightest Riesling makers in the country before launching his own venture, John is never far away from his beloved grape. John makes classic Australian styles from carefully selected vineyards with an emphasis on purity and site reflection, as well as German-inspired expressions that balance acidity and sugar with singular precision.

The wine is very refined, showing some good mineral and slate characteristics. Delicate aromas of lemon, limes and bath salts. Lingering flavours of lemon pith, green citrus and apples. Good fruit and acid balance. Drinks well now, and will reward with long-term cellaring.

Lush, almost tropical aromas of pineapple, bananas and melon - the palate exhibits steely minerally flavours without being overly acidic. An excellent advertisement for Clare Riesling.

Another classic Riesling from the Clare Valley! Lemon and lime with some floral notes on the nose are matched with long citrus flavours and crisp acidity. Enjoy young and fresh or with bottle age.
