An off-dry lower alcohol style, Felton Roads Bannockburn Riesling displays floral lift and fleshy stone fruit richness balanced by taut racy acidity. The fruit comes from Calvert & The Elms vineyards in the Bannockburn sub-region of Central Otago. The grapes are whole bunch pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts, with the ferment arrested when the desired balance between acidity, alcohol and residual sugar is reached.

Fermentation was ceased at the desired residual sugar level to ensure a total integration of wine components. Lees stirring also introduced during maturation for texture and aromatic depth. Winemaker Justin Arnold, has absolutely nailed this wine! It delivers plenty of lively acidity but also generous mid palate weight. Think lime blossom, mandarin, sea spray and green pineapple. Planted in the Southern Victorian cool-climate region of Henty in 1964, the Drumborg Vineyard has become one of Australia's premier vineyards for producing Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Always in very limited supply, the Drumborg Riesling is a delicate white with pronounced floral notes and notes of citrus zest on the nose. The palate follows through with delicate lime flavours and a trademark zippy mineral acid backbone. Wonderfully fresh and vibrant early in its life, the Drumborg Riesling is also famous for ageing exceptionally well and will further develop in the bottle for a further decade or more.
