Laurent Ponsot Cuvée du Perce Neige
Cuvée du Perce Neige Bourgogne Blanc A soft and delicious introduction to the software behind the greatest database of Chardonnay in the world, written by one of its greatest programmers. Laurent Ponsot. A blend of different parcels, sourced across a litany of trustworthy growers and venerated communes in Burgundy. Yellow fruit accents are framed by a wisp of oak, a waft of phenolics and a crunchy skein of mineral pungency. The finish is long and firm, yet this is a wine of immense versatility at the table to be enjoyed on the earlier side.
Laurent Ponsot Meursault Cuvée Du Pandoréa
Laurent Ponsots new company is a stage in a wide-ranging project that began four decades ago. In this different format, Laurent Ponsot continues to use his experience, his craftsmanship and his passion to serve the terroir of Burgundy. The company Laurent Ponsot is neither a domain nor a maison: its a state of mind. To create an exceptional wine is the equivalent of designing luxury goods. Haute couture is how we have decided to describe these incredible wines, like unique designer pieces, made even more glorious through our experience and craftsmanship. There are several schools of thought on the etymology of Meursault without any clear winners, but according to one theory, its wines are so brilliant that they compete with the sun: Meurs soleil! Its aromatic power and exceptional balance between richness and acidity make this one of the great wines of Burgundy.
Vasse Felix Tom Cullity
This wine is a great example of why Margaret River is such a powerhouse in the cabernet department: concentration, savoury tannins, spice, and plenty of fruit. Blend of Cabernet sauvignon/Malbec/Petit Verdot. Delicious from the first to the last sip, with its very long finish.
Domaine Michelot Meursault Perrieres 1er Cru
This wine is made from two parcels which are found on the border of the communes of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. The first, which is to the left of the Clos des Perrières, has clay/limestone soil and a subsoil of volcanic rock which allows a healthy root system to develop in this limestone-rich environment. The second is on the upper slope and overlooks the Perrières quarry. Here the soil is heavily limestone, partly as marl and partly as white rock. This is interesting for the way it brings mineral notes to the wine. During tastings it often find notes of white pepper and other spices both on the nose and on the palate.
Louis Latour Puligny Montrachet Referts 1er Cru
Since their inception in 1797, the family of Maison Louis Latour have been synonymous with quality Burgundy wines from their entry-level all the way to their highly sought after Grand Cru wines.
Littorai B A Thieriot Vineyard Chardonnay
Domaine Xavier Monnot Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes
Domaine Jean Noel Gagnard Clos De La Maltroye Premier Cru
This is an outstanding example of a white Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru. Formerly planted with Pinot Noir, this plot was grubbed up in January 1988, after producing good yields for 45 years, and replanted with Chardonnay in 1990. This change illustrates Chassagne-Montrachet's shift towards white wines dating from the 1980s in the light of the strong worldwide demand for Chardonnay-based wines. Not all the plots in Chassagne Montrachet are suited to this grape variety, however, and every change must be made in conformity with the appellation laws (to ensure quality) and in full respect of the terroir and its uniqueness. Thus, Chardonnay was only planted in this vineyard after careful consideration, producing its first vintage of white wine in 1992.
