Bruichladdich Islay Barley
This is a thought provoking, uber-provenance single malt whisky distilled from barley grown by eight family farms on our remote Scottish island home. Barley varieties Optic and Oxbridge were planted across the breadth of the island in 2009. We distilled their spirit early in 2010 and it ran clean, rich and malty, before being filled into ex-Bourbon and French wine casks and matured in our warehouses by Loch Indaal.
High Spirits Littlemill 21 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Note: Product has come from a private collection and as such has some minor scuffing/scratches/handling marks. Actual product shown. As Littlemill fans would know (and bemoan), finding bottles of this stuff is a rare opportunity. Even amongst the various closed distilleries, it really is slim pickings. Bottled at a crowd-pleasing 48% abv for the third Spirit of Scotland: Rome Whisky Festival, expect a reliable expression of this near-forgotten malt, oily/waxy from start to finish, herbaceous and a generous helping of light-bodied fruit.
Glen Moray Heritage Whisky
This range is comprised of exceptional single malts that best encapsulate quality and smoothness: the accessible Classic, the innovative 10 years old, the elegant 12 year old, and the satisfying 15 year old. Glen Moray's Elgin Heritage Collection has been carefully matured to create a smooth, sweet character combined with subtle oak flavours. Our unique Speyside climate gently influences these whiskies to produce a well-rounded character and complex finish.
Darkness Benrinnes PX Finish 14 Year Old Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Well-sherried Benrinnes invariably works a treat and is always tempting. The slightly meaty, nutty character of the spirit derived from partial triple distillation and use of worm tub condensers gives body to many of Diageo’s blends. This isn't the first time Darkness have bottled Benrinnes after a finishing in Pedro Ximénez octaves, so obviously they think it's a worthy match. In this example it imparts a generous helping of vibrant red fruit notes. The price is right for a cask strength 14 year old! 55.3% Alc./Vol. Notes from the bottlers... Nose: Strawberry jam and pecan pie, with a whisper of old oak furniture. Palate: Vanilla pod, Nice biscuits, chocolate peanuts, dried cherry, and mince pie filling. Finish: Fiery ginger and chocolate ice-cream.
Glenfarclas 25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
With the Edrington group having priced extra-aged Macallans well beyond the reach of the average wallet, (pay $4000+ for the 25YO) Sherry enthusiasts searching for that something special have few options left. Enter Glenfarclas: When you buy a bottle of this you support one of Scotland's only independent family-owned distilleries. Quarter-century aged Scotch is not getting cheaper. Arran, Dalwhinnie, Glenfiddich, Highland Park, Old Pulteney, Laphroaig, Talisker, Caol Ila, Glenrothes and Glengoyne currently have an average retail price of close to $700. Add Macallan, Lagavulin, Springbank and Ardbeg to the mix and the average jumps up to around $1200! It's inevitable that the price for 25 year old single malt Scotch will settle somewhere between these two values. (Even Single Grains and Blends with similar age statements are becoming less and less accessible). Tasting note: Bright gold with a pale straw hue. Some real class and depth to the nose which offers powerful aromas of prune, roasted nuts, honey and freshly polished floorboards. Smells expensive. Mouthfilling, and with an unexpected degree of 'tingle' for whisky of this age. Glorious at mid palate, serving up delicious honey and dried fruit flavours over rich, spicy, sugar-laced malt. Medium long with a delicate aftertaste of dried fruit and sweet leather. Aristocratic. Would make a perfect after dinner malt. Some tasters drew comparisons with Macallan 18. 43% Alc./Vol.

Johnnie Walker Gold Label The Centenary Blend 18 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky
Note: Product has come from a private collection and as such has some minor scuffing/scratches/handling marks. Actual product pictured. Two variants of Johnnie Walker ' Gold Label ' now co-exist under the ' Reserve' and 'Centenary Blend' labels, with the latter now discontinued, and a rarity on the market. Like other products in the Johnnie Walker range, a degree of confusion surrounds their exact contents. We can tell you that the Centenary blend is a limited release to commemorate the first 100 years of Johnnie Walker. It’s a blend of fifteen different whiskies including Clynelish and Cardhu, aged for a minimum of 18 years. This particular packaging is probably the second generation version from this series. Tasting notes: Bright gold colour. Gentle, sensual aromatics at first yield pristinely clean, buttery grains, then dried grass and dried coconut notes seamlessly lead into more fruity scents. Delicate pear and ripe apple notes emerge, with a sublime smokiness that wafts throughout adding overall depth. A very sexy sniff that pretty much clocks the Scotch Whisky aroma wheel. The palate delivers a powerful, sweet, spicy, gently smoky malt burst with pear and dried apricot emerging on the back palate. Excellent length. Impeccable balance. Long, drying peppermint / honeycomb aftertaste. A fabulous blend packing as much character and power as many a Single malt. 40% Alc./Vol.
Glenmorangie The Quarter Century 25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Note: Product has come from a private collection and as such has some minor scuffing/scratches/handling marks. Actual product not pictured. Officially discontinued, Glenmorangie 25YO has been replaced by "Glenmorangie Grand Vintage". The first one was the 1990 released in early 2017. Glenmorangie combines the spiciness of the northern Highland malts with the lightness of the lowlands. The gleaming swan-necked copper stills - the tallest in Scotland - play a vital role, allowing only the lightest and purest spirit to make it into the final malt. The distillery remains one of the smallest in the Highlands, employing just sixteen craftsmen - "The sixteen men of Tain". The Quarter Century is a 25 Year Old release, sumptuously packaged in an elegant amphorae style bottle and gold coloured presentation box. Described by Glenmorangie as "Bursting with depth of flavour, dried fruits, blackberries, plums and dates, married with chocolate, coffee and cinnamon spice".
