Geoff Weaver has journeyed from the big end of town to a tiny, intimate pocket of the Adelaide Hills. From his role as chief winemaker for the Hardy group of companies, in 1992 he made the break from corporate winemaking to pursue his own dream on the Lenswood vineyard that he and wife Judith had started planting a decade earlier. Those vines, some of the oldest in the Hills, are really reaping the rewards of maturity. Tightly structured yet aromatically lifted wine but with a supple mid-palate and a fine, crisp finish. The nose is fresh and lively with a lifted aroma of lime blossom. The palate is fruity with a juicy zest and a fine mineral edge.

Grown on an elevated, rocky site west of the township of Auburn, our single-vineyard pinot gris was hand-harvested at the perfect point of ripeness to create a brilliantly fresh style of wine. Our commitment to hand-picked fruit is vital in achieving pure colour and appealing grape character in the finished wine. In fact, we already began the process back in the vineyard by thinning 30% of the crop to enhance flavour intensity. Once we are in the winery, gentle handling and minimal interference and inputs are key to protecting the delicate purity of our pinot gris fruit and attaining the bright wine style we love. "This has hallmark slickness and vitality in texture, with greasy apple, nashi pear and cashew savouriness, a lift of pleasing white vinegary tang and a dash of sweet, exotic spice. That's a good list of ingredients for gris, here done medium weight with good length in tow. While not overly complex, it delivers a sense of layers and interest to the wine. An outstanding modern Australian Riesling with great cellaring potential. Careful winemaking allows the premium fruit from the pristine Eden Valley to take centre stage. What happens when you combine notes of spice, black pepper and mocha? These are the aromas of Taylors Made Malbec. This red varietal has a well rounded body and deep flavours of black cherry, plum and raspberry.

Dopff Riesling Grand Cru Schoenenbourg has quite phenomenal citrus notes with a luscious and toasty caramelised honey element. Beautifully balanced acidity and immense length. Sheer indulgence!

This semi-dry Riesling from Schloss Vollrads is a prime example for the variety. It has an inviting floral bouquet, subtle minerality, and complex fruit focused on flavours of green and yellow apples and Nashi pears. The finish is beautifully balanced, with just the right amount of acid, and stays and stays.

Henschke Julius is a classic expression of Eden Valley Riesling. An almost perfect vintage has provided the citrus blossom and lime aromas and an intense minerally structure which will develop for a decade at least.

Frogmore Creek from Southern Tasmania is about as pure an expression of cool climate Riesling on could hope to find. A beautifully structured Riesling with elegant citrus flavours and vibrant acidity. Put it away for a while and reap the rewards.

Sourced from three vineyards at Leasingham in the Clare Valley this wine is a unique blend of three varieties originating from Spain - Tempranillo, Mourvedre and Grenache. That is why we call it 'The Spaniard'.

Sidewood Pinot Gris is sourced from selected rows from their 300 acre estate in the Adelaide Hills. This cool climate, estate grown wine shows a fresh nose and palate of crisp apples, nashi pear and citrus. With a smooth, almost silk like texture, this excellent Gris has brilliant natural acidity and a length and character that will allow the wine to age wonderfully.
